A significant part of the cost of any type of air conditioner is the installation cost. In most cases with the COOLMAX you are already saving the cost of a new power point, as it can normally be plugged into any nearby power point. However if you are handy, you can save even more!
Three DIY kits are available, a plumbing kit, a kit to install the cooler in a timber sash or double hung window, and a kit to allow installation in an aluminium sliding window. All these kits are designed so that if they are installed with care, they can be removed later without damaging the building, so that they are suitable for use if you are renting your home.
The DIY plumbing kit includes enough items for a typical plumbing installation and requires minimal DIY skills.
The DIY kit to suit installation in a timber window includes a matching infill panel to suit installation in a sash or double hung window that has a clear opening at least 650mm wide. The kit can also be adapted for hopper and casement windows, although more work is involved.
The DIY kit to suit installation in an aluminium sliding window includes transparent plastic windows and framing to suit installation in a sliding window.
