Energy and cost savings with the COOLMAX CM50

chart showing savings equal to the cost of the cooler over 10 years

The above graph shows that if you buy a COOLMAX cooler, your 10 year electricity costs are negligible, but if you buy a refrigerative room air conditioner, you will probably pay as much over the next 10 years for electricity, as you paid to buy the cooler in the first place. Your savings are even greater if you use a DIY installation kit. (Prices in Australian dollars based on typical installations in Australia)

When you are buying an air conditioner, you are also committing to paying to run it for the next 10 to 20 years. With a refrigerated room air conditioner (RAC) you will probably spend as much in electricity over the next 10 years, as you paid to get it installed in the first place. So the real cost of the air conditioner is actually twice what you have paid for it. The COOLMAX is different. The annual electricity cost is generally around $40 or less, which is negligible compared to the initial cost of any air conditioner.

This also means of course you are doing the right thing by the environment, as you will save about 80% of the greenhouse gases emitted by the refrigerative air conditioner. Buying a COOLMAX is an easy way to make a big contribution to the environment, while still keeping comfortable

Remember too that the COOLMAX uses a maximum of 220 Watts, while an equivalent refrigerative air conditioner will use a maximum of around 2000Watts. This means that on the really hot days when there is an electricity shortage, you are saving nearly 90% of the energy used by a refrigerative air conditioner, so you can run the COOLMAX with a clear conscience.
